Probate Court Appearances

There are a ton of things to remember when you need to appear in Probate Court. Here are three of them:

1) BE ON TIME: I can’t tell you how many times I have seen people, even attorneys, lose rights because of not being on time.  Plan to park far away, go through security, etc….

2) PAY ATTENTION: Pay attention to the other cases on calendar so you learn the flow and what’s expected. Also, listen carefully for your case as sometimes the Judge goes pretty fast. Also, the Judge may mis-pronounce the name you are waiting to hear.

3) DON’T LEAVE UNTIL NEXT CASE CALLED: Some people leave before the next case starts. The Judge occasionally makes further orders after you might think they are done. Wait until the next case is called before you leave the Court room.

Good luck to you. -John
