Travel and Estate Plan

Many people, especially those with children, desire getting their estate plan done (or updated) before a big trip.  Sure this may be an irrational fear to a degree as everybody has heard you are more likely to get in a car accident close to home than have a plane crash. However, it’s an extremely common sentiment that people express to me as an estate planning attorney.  ”Our kids are young so we want to make sure our guardian is named, our trustee is selected and everything is lined up to make it easy for our families.”  Oh ya… “and we don’t want our families to fight.”  I hear these and other sentiments all the time.  If you are about to go on a big trip, with or without your kids, get your estate plan done or updated with a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law.
