As a certified specialist in California probate, estate planning and trust law I am hired in all different facets of these areas. For example in many cases I write the estate plan and in many others I execute an estate plan after death. However, there is a growing piece of my work which is monitoring the probate cases that somebody else is executing.  If you have inherited money and aren’t sure things are being done correctly please talk to me.

The California probate process is 7 months minimum but can be much longer. During that 7 months there are a whole host of things that need to happen. Notices to give, documents to file, and the list goes on. In some of these instances there is Court involvement or oversight. However, in most cases there is not Court involement or oversight and, worse yet, a huge problem of people hiding the facts or out and out STEALING.

When I am hired to monitor a probate I am hired to make sure the Executor or Administrator is doing their job right. I am making sure they file the documents when they are supposed to and if they don’t I find out why. I am making sure the documents that are filed seemed accurate and if they don’t then I investigate to find out why. I then look for inconsistencies, which can be quite subtle, and I completely tear them open to investigate what happened.

In short, I am using my 17 years of experience with these matters to be your ears and eyes. I am using my knowledge to protect you and give you peace of mind. It should be noted we are NOT contesting the will, in these monitoring cases, so there is no risk of triggering a no-contest clause. Rather, we are just making sure your rights are protected!
